Acrobat ants are one of our 5 commonly found ants. They like to nest outdoors in damp areas such as rotting logs, tree stumps, mulch piles, and under rocks. There are many ways acrobat ants invade your home. They tend to do so by going under doors, following pipes and wires, climbing branches and shrubs that are up against your home, and even following utility lines. When inside your home they tend to nest in wood that has been damaged by termites or carpenter ants. You will most likely find them when they’re looking for food inside your home. You can identify an acrobat ant by looking down onto it and noting its heart-shaped abdomen.
